I was having a conversation during my lunch break at the office today and a work colleague told me that apparently after the war, corn was in abundance so they used it to feed cows. The problem here is that cows can't actually digest corn properly so they spend most of their life in pain and malnourished! Is this true!? If so, that is absolutely horrifying and digusting!!
That is awful! I couldn't find much information about the reasons behind feeding cows corn but I did stumble across this article http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/ ... sides.html which talks about farmers cutting "windows" into cows to see how they are digesting food. I really cannot believe this is legal!
I found this article about it too. Seems that because of this, the meat is also inferior so not only are humans putting cows through terrible pain but it's all for no reason! at times like this I'm so disappointed in us humans just another reason to be vegan!
